Program Goal
To prevent the spread of rabies from animal to human through public education and pet vaccination clinics.

Eligibility
St. Lawrence County residents

Description
Post-exposure treatment of humans is provided when an exposure occurs. Confinement of domesticated cats, dogs, ferrets, as well as livestock is conducted as needed to reduce the spread of rabies. The program also includes continued support of the expanded oral rabies vaccine bait drop program in the St. Lawrence Region in conjunction with USDA.

Free Rabies clinicRegistration for the town of Fowler Rabies Clinic is now open. All clinics now REQUIRE pre-registration; there will be NO WALK-INs.  Please arrive at your scheduled time to prevent congestion. Animals must have a collar and leash, and cats must be in an animal carrier or a pillowcase. All animals must be under the control of an adult. RPEP Yearly Numbers

"RPEP" stands for rabies post-exposure prophylaxis. It is an important medical treatment given to someone after they might have been exposed to the rabies virus, usually from a bite or contact with the saliva of an infected animal.
