Rabies Control Program

The Rabies Program works to prevent the spread of rabies from animals to humans through public education, pet vaccination clinics, exposure management, and animal confinement when necessary. The program also supports the continued expansion of the USDA oral rabies vaccination (ORV) baiting program throughout the St. Lawrence Region, which helps reduce rabies in wildlife populations and decrease the risk of transmission to domestic animals and people.
